taught German as a foreign language at Kingsway Princeton College in London and at the University of Leeds, England

worked at Innsbruck University Library from 1991-1999 and as deputy director of Vienna University Library from 2000-2003 and finally since 2004 holds the post of director of Vienna University Library and Archive Services

was elected vice president of the Austrian Librarians Association in 2002 and re-elected several times

was elected chairperson of the board of library directors of Austrian University Libraries in 2006
