Libraries on the Agenda
Claudia LuxDuring the last decade libraries developed to multimedia collections and digital libraries and therefore have changed a lot. This is still not evident for many politicians. To advocate for libraries is more than to advocate for culture and education. It must be developed to all other ministerial branches where information is needed. IFLA supports the role libraries have to take on in the information society at an international level. There is no world government to put our demands to. Eblida is an important partner with an important role in the European Union. How to put libraries on the European Agenda could become an example for new library advocating activities world-wide.
