Open Access: delivering a European agenda for teaching, learning and research

Paul Ayris

This paper will look at the impact of the Open Access agenda in UCL (University College London) by studying that institution’s emerging mandate for Open Access dissemination and how this supports the University’s Mission. UCL is currently 7th in the Times Higher World rankings of Universities and has considerable research strengths in practically all major academic disciplines. The paper will look at the drivers for UCL academics to support Open Access, study linked developments in UCL’s Copyright and IPR policies, and outline the emerging publications system which is being established in UCL, of which Open Access is an important part.
